Regular TPC readers may already be familiar with Gift for Life, the gift and home industries’ charitable organization with a lofty goal of eradicating the AIDS pandemic in the U.S. Its 22nd Annual Party for Life, benefiting DIFFA (Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS), will be next Monday, February 3, 2014, at The Boathouse in New York City’s Central Park.
I am not attending the gala this year — and while I love a good party, I’m especially sorry to miss its silent auction. It’s really fun to peruse all that product in person, and this year’s offerings includes a lot of gems — often able to be purchased at prices far below retail whilst simultaneously benefitting a really good cause.
But even if you can’t make it to the boathouse, you can make it to the auction online and bid until February 3. There are amazing treasures from Tesoros Trading Company, Annieglass, Artechnica, Michael Aram, Jonathan Adler and John Derian, plus items like a full website design from Jola and two orchestra level seats to Kinky Boots, including a meet-and-greet with Tony award winner Billy Porter.
I almost didn’t want to post this, since I am still a bit sour over losing a Jonathan Adler vase at the last minute two galas ago, but hey, this is a great cause … plus really great merchandise!
