My letter-writing campaign has certainly given out lots of stationery — which is its whole point — but it’s also put me in touch with creatives like Julia of Eva Moon Press. She wrote me several months back from her home atop Mt. Tabor in Portland on precious stationery from Ilfant Press, I sent her a big box of goodies from Rossi 1931 — and I also got the opportunity to swoon over her work.
Check out Julia’s beguiling Safari invitation suite. I can see why it’s one of her favorite custom designs!
“This wedding invitation suite paired my original watercolor artwork (on the back of the invitation) with classic typography and simple botanical illustrations,” she told me. “The watercolor provides bold texture and playfulness, while the refined typography balances the design. Gold silhouettes of a giraffe and elephant were used atop the RSVP card and place cards. The menu design echoes the invitation’s botanical illustration. Because I love ephemera, I also sourced vintage stamps for the invitation and RSVP envelopes.”
