Christmas cards are a way to send good cheer, yes, but these days they also spread a good deal of welcome holiday snark. Just ask Keli Spanier from Colette Paperie.

Her latest cards “are created with a few main thoughts,” she told me, namely “our political climate and how to laugh around a stressful time of year. I focused on single cards this year instead of boxed sets, as I think these are more specialized and will help people send a few more cards rather than just giving up when they can’t send 100.”

The combination of easy lettering and illustrations contrasted with rather sharp + surprising sentiments make these stand out from the pile (even if you have to hide certain ones when children or older relatives visit).

Pick out a design to speak to every friend and family member on your holiday list here. Better still, this week Keli is offering 25% off holiday cards, and donating 50% of the proceeds to professional kitten rescuer and humane educator Hannah Shaw, AKA @kittenxlady. Just use the code HOLIDAY18.
