It’s nearly April — National Letter Writing Month — which can only mean one thing: write_on! Last year letterpress design houses Egg Press and Hello!Lucky challenged their customers and fans to join them in writing 30 letters in 30 days, and to jumpstart the process, they offered four free letterpress cards to the first 2,000 participants.

By the month’s end, the two companies had given out 8,000 cards (!) and the Internet was abuzz with tweets & posts documented through the hashtag #write_on.

This year, the campaign returns with a vengeance with new partnerships with Paper Source and Sakura of America along with many small stationers and boutiques across the country. Paper Source has commissioned two exclusive write_on super sets, one designed by Hello!Lucky and one by Egg Press. Each contains 16 letterpress printed cards and a Gelly Roll pen.

But here is the most exciting part: Free starter kits are back! Each features a fantastic Gelly Roll pen (courtesy of Sakura of America, who donated 5,000) in addition to 4 letterpress cards (two from Egg Press, two from Hello!Lucky). This year the goal is to send out 5,000 free kits. Get yours here or pick yours up at a team of fab boutiques across the country. First come, first served! Find out here if your favorite shop is one of them.

TPC is getting involved too — the write_on team sent me four very special kits that I’ll be giving out to my letter-writing correspondents throughout the month of April.IMG_5192

These fancy & rather heavy stacks contain a regular write_on kit as well as an extra 26 cards from Egg Press for a month of joyful & very cheery correspondence. Usually I share letters in chronological order, but just for April I’ll be picking correspondents to receive these special kits from both letters I’ve already received and those that come in. I’m planning on sharing them on April 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th.

So what are you waiting for? Sign up for your free swag, and drop me a quick note on your favorite stationery (which is most likely gathering dust) and tell me what makes it so. My address is: P.O. Box 22133, Beachwood, Ohio 44122.

All the partners hope that many, many participants rediscover the many rewards of writing a letter. If you need some inspiration for yours, check out write_on’s blog and reasons to write.

And of course, don’t be shy — share your adventures online and connect with the growing movement on Instagram and elsewhere with the hashtag #write_on.

Thank you so much to the good eggs at Egg Press for your generosity, and I’m looking forward to a correspondence-rich April!
