Today’s palm-sized notecard, featuring a lovely foil letterpress monogram, comes from the Research Triangle Region of Raleigh, North Carolina.
It reads: Sarah, I am finally writing to you! What a day … I’m incredibly excited to watch the Making Mail documentary you introduced me to through your blog. It’s on my t0-do list for today.
This stationery is brand spanking new. I received it yesterday from one of my favorite stationery designers, Emily McCarthy. I have a specific ritual when I sit down to write a note. I only use one of my fountain pens and dip the pen in one of my ink wells. The act of doing this makes the letter writing process seem more special & deliberate. It’s almost a meditative exercise for me.
Thank you for all you do to encourage the art of writing letters. I hope all of us who enjoy writing can stir the passion in the younger generation.❤️Paige Zinn
Thank you so much for writing in, Paige! I love your stationery … and hearing about your ritual. I have a lot of my own that revolve around the act of writing, and frankly I’m relieved I’m not alone! All definitely get me into the zen of the process, which to me is the true zest of life.
On that note, I have something for you I think you will enjoy. Pine Ridge Art has donated a set of their new Life in Colour greeting cards to the campaign. You’d have to have been on the moon to have not heard about the adult coloring trend, reported to relieve stress and anxiety, express the personality and promote unplugging from the digital world.
And how better to create a heartfelt and one-of-a-kind masterpiece than to color one in, and then write the message inside in fountain pen and ink? Pine Ridge Art even sent a box of colored pencils for Lisa to get started. Thank you so much to you both!
Speaking of which, do you want some free, fabulous stationery too? Just drop me a quick note on your favorite paper (which is most likely gathering dust) and tell me what makes it so. My address is: P.O. Box 22133, Beachwood, Ohio 44122. And if you are interested in being sponsor, don’t be shy — I’d love to hear from you too!
