It’s great to not only get notes from stationery designers, but when they throw in some samples for me to pass along, that is even better! The first one I’m sharing today comes right from my own hometown, and after months spent looking at Paris, New York and San Francisco cityscapes, it’s nice to see one for Cleveland.
Inside is printed “Let it snow … let it snow … let it snow …” as well as this message:
This is a winter card showcasing our Cleveland’s skyscrapers and the snow we get from our “Lake Effect” snow machine.
This is from a new product line titled City Designs where I plan to design smaller cities. Since breaking my right knee cap in early January, I have worked on new designs and finished projects that were lingering in limbo. Now my knee has mended, but I still have a few more weeks of working at home without errands, interruptions, LOL!
Thanks for starting this letter exchange! Sincerely, Cristina Bruce-Kaiser, Piccolino Designs
P.S. I am mailing you some of these cards to you too. Card is made of 110 Neenah Classic, Designed in Illustrator.
Thanks so much, Cristina. And, ow! Sorry to hear about your kneecap, I’m glad you are on the mend! I love this design, and I think doing cityscapes for smaller, more neglected cities is a great idea.
The second oversized envelope held a lot of goodies, as well as this colorful letter from Jennifer Doheny Peter.
What a great project! Enclosed you will find several of my favorite cards from my greeting card line, Urban Bird Designs.
My favorite card is the hummingbird. I needed to send a card to someone who found out they had cancer. It had to say just the right thing. “May peace be with you everyday” is exactly what I wanted to say. There are so many occasions that this card is perfect for.
People send cards on the most important occasions in life like birth, weddings, death & birthdays. I am always honored that my cards are a small but important part of those times. Thank you for bringing attention to card sending, Sarah! The world is on your side! Jennifer
Thank you so much, Jennifer! The envelope also held an array of six lovely greeting cards, and the hummingbird design — with that heartwarming message that I agree, suits so many occasions — is on the far right. They are all really wonderful!
I am going to hold onto those samples for other correspondents, and will be sending Cristina and Jennifer card trios from Modern Marianne.
I would love to hear from you too. Just send me a letter, card or postcard on your favorite paper and tell me what makes it so. My address is: P.O. Box 22133, Beachwood, Ohio 44122. I will share it here, and then send you some writing papers along with a note for your efforts.
Also, if you are interested in sponsoring the campaign, please do reach out to me. You can donate a very small quantity of notes (I like to send a minimum of two or three to each correspondent), and I’ll share your work with my readers here each time I send them out. Plus, you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing they’re going to someone who will appreciate & use them.
