By the time you get past the seventh word of the correspondence below, you’ll realize how behind I am with sharing letters. But hopefully you’ll get past it quickly — this letterpressed missive was a treasure to receive.
What a great concept! February at Holstee has been all about the theme “connection.” We spent a lot of time as a team thinking about what connection means to us. A large part of that answer for many of us was taking more time to build connections offline vs. online.
In the spirit of connection I chose this card illustrated by Helen, our “Chief Community Love Director.” Hopefully we will get the chance to connect offline and meet at one of the upcoming shows. If you ever find yourself in NYC we would love to have you join for one of our Thursday team lunches!
Congrats on all you do!
Dave Rad & The Holstee Team
Thank you so much for writing in, Dave! I find it so gratifying and even reassuring to learn that there are people exploring the importance of truly connecting with others — and actually doing something about it while promoting mindful living on the whole. As someone who telecommutes, I spend an inordinate time online, and while I am so grateful for the opportunity and ability to do my job, it is frighteningly easy to overlook the value and humanity of actual interactions. To that end, I really appreciate the invitation & am definitely going to try and make it happen! Rest assured I will be devoting more space here to the many exciting projects generated by this Brooklyn collaborative.
Dave will be the lucky recipient of a card trio from Modern Marianne.
Even though I am behind on sharing these, please do write in! I’ve been contemplating devoting an entire week to them — perhaps post-NSS? I have secured two wonderful new sponsors this week & will be sharing their fabulous swag very soon.
To participate, just send me a letter, card or postcard on your favorite paper and tell me what makes it so. My address is: P.O. Box 22133, Beachwood, Ohio 44122. I will share it here, and then send you some writing papers along with a note for your efforts.
Before I kick off for the weekend, here are a few highlights I’ve stumbled across during this crazy wintry Spring Vacation week:
Are you in LA? Then don’t miss this sugar paper’s sample sale this weekend. There’s some really good deals!
Now we travel across the pond for what I would define as bona fide stationery porn from Stitch Design Co. Don’t worry, it’s suitable for the workplace.
Here’s an interesting partnership between Minted and Capsule.
Someone needs to introduce a stationery truck.
I’m loving the spring apparel trend of sheers. This needs to get on stationery stat!
I think matching separates are another paper-ready concept.
And I can’t resist these fruit prints.
Meanwhile, Heloise takes on a question for the ages: Just what exactly is the right way to put a greeting card in an envelope?
And if you plan on making the world’s largest greeting card, this is the one to beat.
