Today’s letter comes from Lisa & the creative team at Step Brightly in Oak Park, Illinois, just outside of Chicago. The boutique design studio specializes in brand design strategy, and they are obviously very good at what they do, as their sweet presentation made me very intrigued to read the note!
The two small sheets of notebook paper read:
We are such big fans of your beautiful blog, lovely spirit and admirable efforts to keep letter writing alive!
We’ve sent you our very own Step Brightly stationery — something we created ourselves & send to friends, clients & ladies who inspire us. Designers by trade who love getting & sending mail, we decided to take matters into our own hands and make our own stationery … something anyone can do! Handmade & heartmade are the best.
We are so grateful for all of the talented artists & creatives you have featured on your site. It is the sharing of talents that makes us both inspired and excited to be in this industry & on this earth.
We look forward to seeing all the exciting contributors to your letter writing campaign & hope our worlds cross paths some day!
Hip hip Sarah!
Lisa & the Step Brightly Team
P.S. We hope you’ll share these cards with ladies who inspire you!
Oh my, thank you so much for sending these, Lisa! The enclosed cards are so upbeat, they are definitely a treat to anyone who receives them. I love the subtly glittered envelopes and the pink baker’s twine.
Personally, I am inspired over and over again by the correspondents in this campaign, so I am just going to pay it forward and earmark these to send along to someone else who writes in. I just know they will make a future correspondent’s day (not to mention whoever that person ultimately sends them to!). There’s two of each design.
I think these cards from Joni Ulman Lewis at Visual Treats Design Studio are perfect for the Step Brightly team. They are flat-printed and mimic the actual hand-stitching on Joni’s other designs. They are also a scream; the inside captions read (from upper left, e.g., the lady on the car hood): Trophy Wife; Praise the Lard; The Other White Meat; Maybe ‘Open Bar’ wasn’t the best idea; and finally, The Mother’s March against grown children returning home to live after graduation. Thank you so much again Joni for sending these my way to pass along!
Do you want some free stationery swag? Then send me a letter, card or postcard on your favorite paper (which is most likely gathering dust) and tell me what makes it so. My address is: P.O. Box 22133, Beachwood, Ohio 44122.
I will share it here, and then send you even more stationery for your efforts. And to anyone else who is interested in donating, please reach out — I definitely want to hear from you too!
