Every December, hundreds of stationery and invitation designers labor over how they will extend holiday tidings to clients and friends. I receive dozens and dozens of these each year, and marvel over the creativity and technical skill infused into these completely custom (and really limited-edition) creations. That they are designed and printed alongside all the other holiday work is really nothing short of incredible.

Yesterday when I picked up our held mail from the post office, this red envelope really jumped out of the enormous, rubber-banded pile I received.  First off, it is absolutely enormous at 13″x10″ inches. Secondly, I am completely enamored by the George Washington and poinsettia forever stamps artfully arranged in the upper right corner.

As you can see, it was sent by Haute Papier Collections of Arlington, Va. This dynamic line is the brainchild of Sarah Meyer Walsh and Erin Miller, and I can’t say enough good things about it. Not only is their design obviously top-notch, but they are a constant favorite amongst Stationery Trends readers. Whenever we generate an e-blast asking our retail readers to share their most popular lines or their favorite vendors to work with, I get multiple responses citing them.

Looking at this gold-foiled creation, it’s not hard to see why. I love the idea of a custom advent calendar, and the gold paired with red is engaging, eye-grabbing and festive without feeling overbearing. I think every pattern I’m obsessed with is featured here. Plaids, chevron with an Ikat twist, stripe, dots, Moroccan tile — they’re all accounted for, along with clever & well-executed seasonal motifs like skis, trees and ornaments. So much thought went into this design — just look at the different numbering styles. Every time I look at it I notice something new, and that’s without even peeking at the day’s message.

Speaking of which, the December 3 square reveals a special gift that I am sharing with TPC readers. For today only, Haute Papier is offering 25% off website orders with the code ADVENT2013.

If you swing by the site to browse, don’t miss their custom foil-stamped coasters — the hostess gift sure to garner a repeat invite — and your gifts will definitely stand out encased in foil gift wraps. I could go on and on, but I’m hoping you’ll discover their motley gifts for yourself (not to mention everyone on your gift list).
