As I get ready to kick off a mini-vacation, I wanted to share a few winter holiday cards that crossed my mailbox’ path. The artistry and creativity is awe-inspiring, and for me at least, one of the true wonders of the season.
First, from Quotable. I love the red, pink and black color palette as well as the blocky font, not to mention the quote itself. The matching playing cards are the icing on cake!
Next, Knock Knock‘s super-thick, super-interactive card doesn’t open; the greeting — “moderation is for sissies”— is on back. My favorite is #9: “You’ve started leaving tips in coal or gelt.”
This design from The Nic Studio is also a postcard, which arrived clad in a Kraft envelope. On the back: “Here’s to a season filled with warmth, comfort, good cheer and great food!
Finally, this creation from Abbey Malcolm Letterpress + Design is also a postcard, and I love everything about it: the font choices and how they repeat on the address label and postcard front; the red, black and ivory palette (with lots of white space on the postcard itself); the small (4″x5 1/2″) size and thick, yummy paper.
But the coolest part has got to be the plaid card back. The workmanship and contrast between the different plaid values is a treasure to behold in person. And, it coordinates to the custom stamp from Zazzle.com! Good cheer and great design literally go hand and hand here.
On that note, all of us at The Paper Chronicles wish you & yours a truly magical holiday season!
