If you are looking for sweet Valentines, look no further than Toronto-based Little Seashell Cards.

“My whole life has been about design, composition, colors, inspiration and creativity,” its Lead Designer and Principal Sadaf Kiani told me. “Drawing was my first love, from the time I was four years old. After primary school, I went to study at an Academy for the Arts. As a teenager I reveled thoroughly in art, fashion and interior design. After attaining my BA in graphic design, I began to work as a graphic designer and illustrator, holding both individual and group exhibits of my work. After years of experience in art and design, in August of 2006 I established Little Seashell Cards.”

As you can see below, Little Seashell’s Valentine’s Day line-up is colorful and upbeat, with lots of fun dimensional surprises like hand-applied glitter and crystal rhinestones — not to mention heartwarming sentiments. As for where Sadaf gets her ideas, “I look for inspiration everywhere and in everything, when I am traveling, when I am shopping,” she told me. “Anything can inspire me, patterns, animals, flowers, home decor …”

All of Little Seashell’s Valentines are blank inside and are $4.70 Canadian (about $3.70 US), with some designs on sale for $2.70 Canadian (about $2.13 American). You can shop them here.

Speaking of cards, I’m off to NY NOW next week to walk the show and judge the Greeting Card Association’s LOUIE awards. I can’t wait to review all those gorgeous cards and invitations! That means I won’t be posting next week, but rest assured The Paper Chronicles will be back very soon!
