A Fresh Bunch is the only firm of its kind that I know of — it connects artists/designers with companies who need artwork for apparel, textiles, home, stationery, office, gift and tableware product. Marrying technology with good old-fashioned curation, buyers from around the globe can find just the right artwork from AFB’s diverse cavalcade of artists/designers, who also happen to hail from all points around the globe.
Right now, AFB is seeking a handful of new artists/designers to join its ranks, specifically those with strengths in watercolors; florals; hand-lettering; and typography. “We are not looking for artists who do only pattern design,” noted Founder Jenny Morgan.
As I mentioned, AFB’s clients come from nearly every consumer industry imaginable — including stationery. Here are some fun greeting cards they’ve recently created for Design Design. While there is a fee to join ($500/year), you receive a lot that you can’t really put a price tag on. Participation in AFB’s Blossom Designer Development Program includes: opportunity to submit work for AFB client projects; professional briefs for all client projects; one-on-one art direction and feedback from the AFB team on all submissions; ongoing education on how to design work that sells via AFB’s artist guidebook; exclusive trend reports; a bio and portfolio page on the AFB website; access to custom online collaboration and submission tools; and a private forum for connecting with other member designers around the globe.
By participating actively, Blossom Designers can bloom into Top Level Blossom Designers, who receive: an annual conference call with the AFB team to outline goals for the year; personalized annual action plans; personalized mood boards; and cash prizes for hitting certain revenue targets.
I have known Jenny for years now and this is a great opportunity to check out! So, if you’re interested in joining the flock, you can learn more here and here — and then apply here.
