So, I am back in the office after spending most of the week at NY NOW and judging the LOUIE Awards. And oh, did I see some eye candy Tuesday and Wednesday! Here are some standouts from the several hundred entries I reviewed — and since judging is blind, I don’t know for sure who makes most of them.
Any flaws in the images are entirely mine — the purple foil of the below design is dazzling in person!
Judging is always an interesting journey through the stages and seasons of life — in one category, you’re bidding farewell to loved ones, in the next, you’re giggling with girlfriends.
The next four were for me standouts in the Letterpress category. I love the splashes of gold foil on this design! I was thrilled that there were more silkscreened entries than in year’s past — and I love the rich, velvety texture of the next two entries.
I have a hunch this next one will be a winner!
Thank you to everyone who submitted, and thank you to the Greeting Card Association for inviting me to judge. I really, really enjoyed seeing so much great design! Finalists will be on display at Javits Center during National Stationery Show May 15-18 — and I look forward to toasting the winners at the awards gala May 15. Good luck, everyone!
