AmericasMart Atlanta Highlights

I am so happy to report big crowds and brisk order-writing at the AmericasMart Gift & Home Furnishings Market this past weekend — and better still, I didn’t get lost once! There was also a lot of eye candy as always, and while I’ve yet to completely review my images, here are a few favorites.

First up, ’70s elements from macrame wall art to hanging planters get the clean Scandinavian treatment at Bloomingville. Check out the fur at the lower right — that won’t be the last you see of it! Throughout market, ombré, bold typography, glitter and fun messaging were the rule not the exception — and looked ever so lovely over at Slant Collections.Lemons are definitely an emerging trend — I love how Hester & Cook presented them with gingham, dots and vintage props. Cosmetic bags are the grab-and-go must-have of ’17 — here’s one of many from Two’s Company.I stumbled across the lovely Erin Flett in the High Design temps — and cannot get enough of her colorful hand-printed patterns on 100% American-made products.
Also in High Design, the 80s are back — but they’re far more polished than I remember them, thanks to Maximal Art2017’s coolest kids will be wearing embroidered brooches from Meri Meri — their booth was a bright and cheery breath of fresh air. Yes, there are totes upon totes these days, but bibliophiles will be powerless to not purchase this design from Gibbs Smith, snapped at Daniel Richards.
In the Building 3 temps I found one-of-a-kind repurposed dictionary pages from Fresh Prints of CT.
They were sharing a booth with Jim Spinx — here are a few of his tamer coasters.  Finally, no desk is complete without traditionally crafted stamps from Wms. & Co. found in the Aesthetic Movement showroom. I definitely approve of the quote!
