It’s a cold February rain in Cleveland this morning, so what better way to warm up the morning than a bevy of goodies sent to me from Porcupine Hugs. The New York City-based, hand-illustrated line is the brainchild of Dorkys Ramos.
“My inspiration for Porcupine Hugs lies in a love of color and a wish to retreat from the stresses of adult life,” she told me. “It’s as if my child within decided to open a stationery shop and share her imagination with the world. I’ve always loved to daydream and get lost in my own little world and as I’ve gotten older have realized that there’s no reason why growing up should equal less time to play and getting messy.”
Dorkys kindly sent me an envelope packed with colorful goodies, all a joyful retreat from the everyday blahs: palm-sized, mini-flat notecards; I heart paper pencils; a perpetual calendar for the chronically forgetful; and a set of watercolor thank-yous. All burst with brightness and exuberance, and remind me of why I first fell in love with stationery.
Need a little color in your day? Shop it all here in Dorkys’ Etsy shop. Everything is nicely printed in the U.S.A.on 30% post-consumer waste paper using wind power, envelopes are recycled, and products are packaged in biodegradable, compostable plastic sleeves made from plants.
Thank you so much Dorkys for sending me all this great swag!
