Happy Valentine’s Day! In honor of the holiday, I’m suspending Friday Funnies this week — and urging you all, while you’re in an amorous, generous mood, to think of love not just today, but throughout the whole year. After all, why only dedicate one day to love? And there’s no more thoughtful gesture to make to any loved one than an unexpected bit of correspondence.
The arresting card below is from Michoucas Design, available here. This French line, I must admit, is shaping up to be something of an addiction for me. Looking through the catalog for more than a few minutes makes me want to immediately sell everything I own and move to the South of France (Michoucas is conveniently located in Bordeaux).
As far as price goes — as if you could put a price on love! — I started to purchase this card & was told it would cost me about five Euros ($6.84) to have this card delivered.
Next up we have this really fun grouping from Katie Vaz. All her lettering and illustrations are drawn with an illustration pen, scanned and vectorized, then digitally printed on 100% recycled cardstock. While she introduced this collection as a set of Valentine’s Day cards, they work for anniversaries, “just because,” long distance, etc. You can find these for $4, plus a whole lot more at her Etsy store.
I love these washi tape selections from meant to be sent. The XO card on the left is ($5), while the love card on the right features shiny gold foil too. ($6) Both include a shiny foil liner and seal and are blank.
The Bird+The Beard created this Periodic Table of Elements card, $4 at their Etsy store. For just 50 more cents, they’ll print your name and a custom message inside.
Finally, no romantic rundown is complete without a virtual stop at Rifle Paper Co. This swarthy masked bandit is inspired by wanted posters and vintage Valentine’s, yet feels completely of our time. It’s available here, $4.50 for a single and $18 for a box of eight — in case you’re really serious about tracking down that lost heart.
