Picturesque Prints from Shades of Expression Designs

It’s finally fittingly snowy and windy this January morning in Ohio, and while it’s picturesque in a Frozen sort of way, I’ll take a lovely landscape or stunning still life over it any day. And I can’t think of better worlds to get lost in than those presented in watercolor art prints from Shades of Expression Designs.

I have a special place in my heart for family-run businesses — thankfully these operations persist in the stationery & gift industries — but Shades of Expression goes a step further and is entirely female! The clan consists of mother Mary Bush, her two daughters and a granddaughter.

“Mom is the artist who fostered an appreciation and love for fine art in all of us,” daughter Mandy told me. “A cum laude graduate of The duCret School of Art in New Jersey, she is a long-time art educator in schools. Along with her teaching career she did freelance and commissioned art work while designing holiday cards and notecards. With tremendous positive response from local customers, one daughter suggested branching out into greeting cards. Shades of Expression Designs was developed a few years ago, offering a diverse array of designs, from trendy to traditional, and displaying many artistic techniques and media. We like to share our love of art with others and promote happy, positive feelings.”

There is definitely enough range within the prints that there is something for every taste.
